Silleteros Parade - Feria de las Flores

An update from our partner The Colombian Trip:

Medellin in Bloom | Experience Feria de las Flores 2026

31 July - 9 August 2026

Every year, Medellin transforms into a vibrant celebration of colour, culture and tradition during Feria de las Flores, one of Colombia's most iconic and beloved festivals.

For ten unforgettable days, the city comes alive with flowers, music, gastronomy and local celebrations, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the spirit and traditions of Antioquia.

At the heart of the festival lies the celebrated silletera tradition - a cultural legacy preserved for generations by the flower-growing families of Santa Elena. These artisans create extraordinary floral arrangements known as silletas, which they proudly carry on their backs during the world-famous Silleteros Parade.

More than a festival, Feria de las Flores is a tribute to Medellin's rural heritage, the creativity of its people and the deep connection between local communities and the surrounding mountains.

A Curated Experience During Feria de las Flores

Designed for travellers seeking a more immersive and elevated way to experience the festival, this journey goes beyond attending the main events. Through flowers, landscapes, local traditions, gastronomy and authentic encounters, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a seamless and memorable experience.

Highlights may include: a floral welcome in La Ceja, one of Antioquia's most important flower-growing regions, including a visit to a traditional flower farm; exclusive access to a private collection of more than 5,000 orchids, offering a sensory journey through colours, textures and fragrances; a meaningful encounter with the silletera tradition in Santa Elena, guided by the families who continue preserving this cultural heritage; a guided exploration of Comuna 13, discovering Medellin's transformation through local stories and urban art; entry to Florecer at Medellin Botanical Garden, celebrating national and international floral diversity in the heart of the city; reserved seating for the iconic Silleteros Parade, including bilingual guide services, private transportation and carefully coordinated logistics for a comfortable experience; a scenic helicopter flight to Guatape, combined with private navigation, gourmet lunch and time to explore its colourful streets; and a peaceful cycling experience through a premium chrysanthemum plantation in La Ceja, connecting travellers with the land and the craftsmanship behind every flower.

Discover Medellin at its most vibrant - through traditions, landscapes and unforgettable experiences.
