Dear friends, We received news from the Government today. Although these are the first measures for reopening some of the flights scheduled from some of our main markets, we still need to figure out next steps. A gradual return of the tourism industry, safeguarding sanitary measures, is the objective of opening up to international commercial flights from the European Union, the United Kingdom and Canada, from August 1st, 2020. The inclusion of additional routes from main markets will be modified according to the development of the pandemic in our country and in the world. To allow travellers to enter Costa Rica, the next requisites will be mandatory: • A negative result of the PCR test in the 48 hours prior to the trip. • To complete the digital epidemiological form of the Costa Rican Social Security, which will be available in different languages. • Acquire travel insurance that covers accommodation in case of quarantine and medical expenses for acute illness. • In the event that a traveller does not comply with these requirements, he or she will not be able to embark towards Costa Rica. Upon landing in Costa Rica, travellers must carry facial protection and comply with the strict protocol of the air terminal, respecting physical distance, disinfection in carpets, taking temperature and following any other sanitary instructions. These new measures live some questions unanswered: Is the required insurance available at reasonable prices? Is it feasible to get COVID 19 tests & results within 48 hours of arrival to Costa Rica? What is includes in the digital epidemiological questionnaire? We will devote our resources to find answers for you. We have been preparing extensively with our protocols and also the ones for each service provider. It is our commitment to ensure that all services included in the programs fully comply so we can keep on delivering our quality service your travellers deserve.
Sincerely, Horizontes Team
